Countryside Village coming to the Rio Bravo Valley
Shamrock Hills is the latest growth popping up in northeast Bakersfield, and now the ever-expanding Rio Bravo Valley is getting a shopping center too. Countryside Village will be located adjacent Shamrock Hills on the southwest corner of Highway 178 and Comanche Drive.
According to journalist Joseph Luiz, Countryside Village will also have, “six buildings and approximately 43,000 sq. ft of retail space.” “The goal here is to make it a lifestyle center for the community,” said Rick Jhaj, chief development officer for Countryside Corp., the developer of the project.
Stores and Shops Opening
Residents can expect to see two buildings by July 2018, during the first construction phase. Also, a new Taco Bell, a Countryside Market, and restaurant, next to a Shell station and a Subway. Other neighbors already in the area include Tony’s Firehouse Grill and Pizza. Tony’s has a full menu of pizzas, sandwiches and more. Also, Rio Bravo Valley Crossfit is next door, offering classes and personal training.
Rio Bravo Valley Area, in Northeast Bakersfield, Grows in Popularity
Bakersfield City Councilman Ken Weir, who represents the developing area, wants the growth to continue. “This is the spark that’s going to lead the way in services for that area. I know that every resident out there is looking for a shopping center and a grocery store.” Weir also noted that there are now more people living in the Rio Bravo Valley. Developers are becoming increasingly interested in northeast Bakersfield because of its growing popularity.
“We need to get good people out there (Rio Bravo Valley) to add to the development and beauty of that part of town.” With high-quality properties being built by Tarina Homes, Weir’s desire to expand the community will be achieved.
